Bernadette is still at the shelter waiting for someone to choose her. She’s on the porch with a volunteer, greeting people. The shelter closes at 5 p.m. today.
Bernadette’s life story is a sad one so far, but you can change that-
Bernadette did nothing but have the misfortune of having a bad experience with bad humans who abandoned her and left her starving and alone, waiting for them to return, when they never intended to come back. She was skin and bones with most of her hair gone when she was taken from an abandoned property to the shelter. She’s made an amazing recovery, which makes it seem even more unfair that she may now die because her human(s) didn’t care.
Bernadette loves people, is affectionate and does well on a leash. She’s also very cooperative getting a bath! Bernadette’s kenneled alone and had some scuffles with other dogs when she wasn’t, though it may have been due to the stress of shelter life and possibly partly her history. Volunteers say they know she’d thrive in the right home and just needs a calm and stable environment (again, just like traumatized humans).
Bernadette, A399522, 3 Years, 38LBS, Spayed Female, Heartworm Negative
