Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace James Metts visited three elementary schools before court on Tuesday, where he presented the winners of his first Thanksgiving coloring contest with $50 Wal-Mart gift cards. The contest, open to all students in kindergarten and first grade, involved them coloring a turkey. The entries were placed on the wall at the Judge’s office during his annual Thanksgiving luncheon, which was open to everyone, and guests voted on them. One winner was selected from each school district in Precinct 4.
The winners were, 7-year-old Aaron Drake, Jr., from Akin Elementary in New Caney I.S.D. (Trina Persson, principal); 6-year-old Peyton Beatty from Peach Creek Elementary in Splendora I.S.D. (Troy Reynolds, principal); and 6-year old Taseem Irsan from Creighton Elementary in Conroe I.S.D. (Principal Jennifer Watson).
