LAKE CONROE- Just after 8 p.m. Wednesday, a boater called 911 to report their vessel was sinking on the upper end of Lake Conroe. The caller said four adults and two children were aboard, and all had life jackets.
New Waverly Firefighters responded with two rescue boats, backed up by North Montgomery County Fireboat 94 from their station mid lake. Walker County EMS and Sheriff’s Deputies responded as well, with all units coming together to establish a unified command post at the Cagle boat ramp.
A New Waverly boat crew soon located the sinking vessel north of the FM 1375 bridge and transferred all six occupants to their rescue boat. The boaters were uninjured and were transported back to the boat ramp just as darkness set in
