LAKE LIVINGSTON DAM RELEASE UPDATE

Heavy rain along the Trinity River basin has once again created the need for an increase in the release of flood water  from the Livingston Dam.

The Lake Livingston Dam release is now at 69,300 cubic feet per second, with additional increases likely, possibly as early as tonight.

Resident living along the river should be prepared for high water, with access roads inside some of the subdivisions being impassable. Residents along the river are urged to make certain they are prepared for this event, which could be equal to the summer flood based on the latest guidance.

Given the fact that most homes along the river are elevated ,we do not anticipate any water in homes tonight and we will continue to monitor conditions with updates as warranted.

As we have noted in previous events, anyone that wishes to leave their home is urged to do so in daylight hours. We have not received any request for sheltering and no shelters are open at this time,as most folks normally  stay with friends or relatives, however, we will be monitoring conditions and will respond as conditions require.
