LCSO: 911 Calls Rerouted Temporarily, Delays Possible

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office wishes to inform the public that all incoming and dispatching of calls, including all 911 calls, will be rerouted on a temporary basis from the Sheriff’s Office to the Liberty Police Department for dispatching beginning on Monday morning at 8 a.m. for, possibly up to 18 hours. This may result in a very slight time delay in responding to various calls. Sheriff’s dispatchers will be moved to the police department for temporary duty in order to supplement their dispatching staff.

The purpose of this re-routing is the installation of a very large emergency back-up generator to provide emergency power to both the Sheriff’s Office and the County jail facilities. This will assure more dependable and reliable power during adverse weather conditions.
