About 11:30am League City Police, Fire and Medical responded to the Immediate Care Medical Facility located at 2640 E. League City Parkway. This was after Galveston County Health District alerted the, to a patient at the facility. According to information transmitted from the facility to Galveston County Health officials, a patient came into the facility showing symptoms of Ebola. In addition the patient had recently traveled to Africa.
Patients who were already at the facility were not able to leave. They were put back in the treatments rooms that they had been treated in. For two hours they or the media who had been alerted by patient phone calls were told anything.
The patient who came in with the symptoms was transported to UTMB in Galveston for further testing.
League City EMS contacted the Centers for Disease Control and based on the countries the patient visited, the CDC considered the patient a very low risk.
The patients inside the facility were finally allowed to leave but were told to watch for any symptoms for the next 28-days.
The results of the UTMB test has not yet been revealed by UTMB.
