This pretty girl is the last doggo on MCAS Death Row this time. The others found humans to save them. Unfortunately, Shortcake only has until 5 p.m. Sunday, and she’ll be euthanized if nobody is willing to take her. Shortcake did nothing deserve this horrible fate – she only had the misfortune to wind up with bad humans. She’s still smiling, being lovable, and seeming happy because she doesn’t know humans many let her down again and she’ll have to die because there were too many bad humans and not enough good ones.
Someone out there has been thinking about getting a rescue. This is the ultimate rescue, because you’ll literally save her life. Shortcake promises to be the most loyal and loving friend you ever had!
From the MCAS volunteers:
Shortcake was abandoned in our shelter parking lot, and understandably, she was nervous and standoffish when she first arrived. Her initial behavior made her difficult to handle; much of her fear seemed to stem from the loud kennel environment and her anxiety about being leashed. However, thanks to the patience and love of our dedicated staff and volunteers, she’s making incredible progress! Her interaction with new people makes her difficult to handle in a shelter environment. When she interacts with people she knows, Shortcake seeks affection, enjoys getting pets, and will even roll over for belly rubs. We believe she may be house-trained, and she came to us already spayed. Shortcake is looking for a loving home where she can continue to build her confidence and show her true loving self.
