Report from Liberty County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security:
Good Morning,
Just a quick update on the Trinity River.
The release at the Livingston Dam remains at 86,900 cubic feet per second.
–Romayor gauge is currently at 38.19ft with projection of 39.7ft
–Liberty gauge is currently at 28.87ft with projection of 29.9ft
–Moss Bluff gauge is currently at 13.01ft with projection of 15ft
With the NWS forecast at this time, we could see the river crest early next week, however this can change with rain in the forecast.
There are reports of several neighborhoods seeing the water starting to cover the roads and in yards in the flood prone areas along Trinity River. There have been no reports of water in homes at this time.
Bottom line, we will monitor conditions and update as warranted, but expect flooding in the the river front subdivisions that are prone to flooding. We are still encouraging the residence that if their plan is to stay, move their vehicles to higher ground, and boat in and out please make sure they have all the supplies they need [Food, Water, Medications, Pet supplies, ect]. We encourage them to do this during day light hours for the safety of our first responders.
Thank you,
Crista Beasley-Adams
