LIBERTY COUNTY MURDER SUSPECT NOW BELIEVED DRIVING ANOTHER VEHICLE

Liberty County Sheriff’s Investigator Sean Mitchell has advised that he has the gray Ford pick-up truck in his custody at this time as the wanted suspect, Jose Marin Soriano has now switched vehicles. He is now thought to be driving a relative’s black 2009 Honda Accord, Texas License plate number NDD 7500.

Liberty County Sheriff’s lead Investigator Sean Mitchell has released the attached photo of murder suspect 59-year-old Jose Marin Soriano who has now been filed on for murder in the murder that occurred on September 19th on CR 3415 in Liberty County. Investigator Mitchell continues to advise that Soriano should be considered armed and dangerous and his whereabouts are unknown at this time.

If Soriano is located it is advised not to approach him but to call your local law enforcement agency to respond.

If you could make this public, it would be appreciated but, again, with the understanding that if Soriano is seen, do not attempt to approach him but to call the Sheriff’s Office at (936) 336-4500 immediately as Soriano is considered armed and dangerous. Just before 7 pm Sunday Liberty County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a home on County Road 3715 in the Rancho Sn Vicente Subdivision off FM 1010 just north of Plum Grove. The call came in from a woman who said she had been assaulted and believed her friend was dead. Units arrived to find a vehicle across the street from the home on fire. The Plum Grove Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched and extinguished the fire. That’s when they found the body of a female inside the vehicle. Inside the home, a woman was found beaten and chained to the bed. She was transported to the hospital by Liberty County EMS. A statewide attempt to locate was issued for Jose Marin Soriano, 59, who lived at the home. Early reports were that the two women worked for him and he called them to meet him at the home claiming to have some personal photographic images of the women. After they arrived he sexually assaulted the woman chained to the bed, The other woman tried to flee. She was the one in the vehicle across the street which was on fire. The wrought iron gate on the fence was plowed down in front of the house. It is unknown if it was done bt her or by Soriano as he fled in a gray or silver Ford pickup. Neighbors reported hearing multiple shots fired and detectives retrieved multiple shell casings from in front of the house. The woman in the vehicle did have a gunshot wound however it is unknown if it or the fire was the cause of death. It is unknown how the vehicle caught fire. The vehicle was pulled out of the woods by Smith Towing and Neal Funeral Home then removed the body and transported it for autopsy. Soriano is believed to have fled to the Houston area in a silver or gray possible Ford F-150. Liberty County Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone with information to call the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office at 936-336-4500.
