LIBERTY COUNTY PRECINCT 4 MAINTENANCE BARN BURGLARIZED

An early morning burglary of Pct. 4, Liberty County Maintenance barn on CR 605 in the South part of the county was reported to the Sheriff’s dispatcher at approximately 6:32am today. According to Lead Deputy George Daniels, it appeared that thieves entered the locked facility by cutting the lock off the front gate with a torch and then burglarized the buildings to obtain keys to various vehicles and other shop buildings.

Taken in this burglary was a 2008 Ford three quarter ton pick up truck and a 20’ low boy trailer, black in color with Texas license plate number 902 7180. The pick up truck was later recovered on Hwy. 1960 near CR 606 also in south liberty county but the trailer and other tools, batteries and equipment stolen is still missing. It is thought the suspect(s) may have entered the facility shortly after midnight and remained on the ground for approximately four (4) hours from indications on the several security cameras which are still being reviewed for identity purposes.

The investigation is still on going and an inventory is now underway to determine the exact financial loss. Deputy Daniels has ask that if anyone has any information regarding this burglary or if anyone saw suspicious activity at the county barn in the early morning hours or saw the truck being abandoned in the Hwy. 1960 area to contact the Sheriff’s Department at (936) 336- 4500 and share that information.
