ANGELINA COUNTY, TX- A Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper seized over 600 grams of multiple controlled substances during a Feb. 2 traffic stop on US 59, just South of Lufkin.
At approximately 7 p.m., a DPS trooper stopped a 2012 Dodge passenger car traveling North on US 59 for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, the driver reportedly discarded a package containing a felony controlled substance. He was arrested by the Trooper.
After a search of the Dodge, approximately 300 grams of methamphetamine, 385 grams of Xanax and over three grams ecstasy were seized during the traffic stop.
Christopher Broussard, 39, from Liberty, TX was transported to the Angelina County Sheriff’s Department. He was arrested for a first degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, a second degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, a third degree felony charge of possession of controlled substance, and a third degree felony charge for tampering with physical evidence.
Broussard was reportedly traveling from Liberty, TX to Nacogdoches, TX. No additional information is available at this time.
