Just after 1:30 pm Thursday afternoon a slow-moving thunderstorm moved through Montgomery County. With heavy lightning, a home on North Westwinds Circle in the Woodlands was struck by lightning. A neighbor hears the loud what sounded like an explosion and went outside to find smoke so heavy that was almost unable to see the home across the street. With fire en route the homeowner who wasn’t home at the time returned shortly and was able to get through a window and save their two dogs. The home suffered extensive damage as firefighters worked to extinguish the two-alarm fire. ‘
