Funeral services are scheduled today for Senior Police Officer Calamity “C.J.” Elliott Barnes, believed to be the longest-serving female officer in HPD history. “C.J.,” as she was known to friends, protected and served the residents of Houston for nearly 44 years before she retired in 2023. Sadly, she has passed away at the age of 71. At 11 a.m., the funeral for retired Officer Barnes will be held at Fallbrook Church at 12512 Walters Road. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones. May she rest in peace.
