Lunchtime Crash

Just before 12:30 p.m. Monday, 43-year-old Theresa Rosenfield of Montgomery was southbound in the 16400 block of FM 1485 when the 2005 Ford F-250 pickup she was driving struck several mailboxes, left the roadway, over corrected and crossed the northbound moving lane of traffic. The truck then ran into the ditch on the northbound side of FM 1485, traveled a short distance and flipped over striking a tree with the roof. Rosenfield was trapped inside.

The New Caney Fire Department arrived on the scene and firefighters quickly extricated Rosenfield.

The truck, which was totaled, was removed by Humble Towing. Rosenfield was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

According to Trooper Martin with DPS, a witness stated Rosenfield passed him just north of SH 242 traveling around 75 miles per hour. He again got behind her at the red light, and as it changed she quickly accelerated, speeding away from the intersection and crashed soon after.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Precinct 4 Constable’s Office provided traffic control.

DPS is investigating.
