MADISON COUNTY FLOODING -BEDIAS CREEK FORECAST 2 FEET OVER FLOOD STAGE AS RAIN REMAINS IN AREA

BREAKING: The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a flood warning
for the following rivers Bedias Creek near Madisonville affecting the following counties in Texas: Madison & Walker.

The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a FLOOD WARNING for the Bedias Creek near Madisonville from early this morning to Tuesday morning or until the warning is canceled. At 01:45 AM Sunday the stage was 16.3 feet. Moderate flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 19.0 feet. Rise above flood stage by early this morning and continue to rise to near 21.3 feet by this evening. the river will fall below flood stage by tomorrow late evening. At 21.0 feet, moderate lowland flooding begins as low lying area along the creek become inundated.

For Bedias Creek at Madisonville, Moderate flooding is forecasted. The current weather is dominated by a band of slow-moving thunderstorms moving across the basin. Rainfall amounts of 4 to 9 inches has fallen along the creek.

Persons are urged to stay away from the river until water levels recede. Motorists should avoid any water covered roads and find an alternate route. Livestock and equipment should remain out of the floodplain for the next few days. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or other news sources for further updates.
