MAJOR ACCIDENT WITH MULTIPLE ENTRAPMENTS

Just after 5 p.m. Porter Fire Department was dispatched to a major accident on Old Houston Road between FM 1314 and Village Way.  When they arrived on the scene they found a 2008 Honda Civic with extensive front end damage. The driver, Sarah Hood, her 20-year-old male passenger and 3-year-old son were trapped in the vehicle.

A 2002 Dodge pickup driven by Juan Guzman, 39, of Houston and his passenger were in the vehicle but not severely injured.

Porter Fire Department requested additional Porter Fire units and Caney Creek Fire Department to set up a landing zone for Life Flight.

As medics started to work on the patients Life Flight cancelled the flight due to heavy weather moving into the area.

When Porter Fire Department was able to free the victims from the Civic they were transported to Hermann Hospital in the Woodlands. The passenger in the Civic was in stable condition with minor injuries. The child was transported in serious but stable condition and the driver was transported in serious condition.

The driver and passenger in the truck were transported in stable condition to Conroe Regional Hospital.

According to DPS Troopers the Civic was southbound on Old Houston Road in a curve when it crossed the center line striking the pickup almost head on.

Troopers have not determined what caused the driver to cross the line but the roads were still wet from an earlier rain shower.

As this crash was being investigated several other crashes were dispatched, Riley Fuzzel and Spring Trails, Northpark and US 59, and FM 2978 at Hardin Store.

The roads are slick, PLEASE SLOW DOWN.
