MAJOR DOPE BUST IN SPLENDORA

Last night just before midnight, Splendora Officer St. Romain was conducting traffic Enforcement on Interstate 69 North. While conducting stationary traffic enforcement, he observed a vehicle traveling 79 MPH in the post 65 MPH zone. Officer St. Romain made contact with the driver who was identified as Renisha Polk, 34, of Houston. Polk advised Officer St. Romain that she did not currently have her driver’s license on her. Officer St. Romain observed nervous behavior from Polk. For Officer Safety, Officer St. Romain asked Polk to exit the vehicle and walk to the front of his patrol unit. At this time, Officer St. Romain asked Polk if there was anything in the vehicle illegal such as drugs, guns etc. Polk stated no and provided consent to search the vehicle. Officer St. Romain retrieved his K9 Partner, “Ordy” to assist in the search of the vehicle. “Ordy” alerted to the rear hatch of the vehicle. As Officer St. Romain attempted to open the rear hatch but it failed to stay open. Officer St. Romain then removed the paneling from the underside of the hatch and observed a large cut out on each side of the hatch containing individually wrapped packages. Upon removal, each package was tested with a Field Narcotic’s NIK Kit for Cocaine which resulted in positive test for each. The total weight of the cocaine was 12 kilos. A further search of the vehicle was conducted where a Texas Driver’s License was located for Polk. Polk was placed into custody on First Degree Felony Manufacturing and Delivery of a Controlled Substance and was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a $500,000 Bond.
