MAN CHARGED AFTER EXPLOSIVES FOUND

On May 22, 2018, Christopher Cody Urbanosky, age 32, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, and 9 counts of prohibited weapon – explosive weapon. The charges stem from an investigation into explosives being possessed, manufactured, and/or sold in Plantersville, TX.

On May 21, 2018, Grimes County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) was contacted regarding a suspicious device on the property near Urbanosky’s residence. The subsequent investigation by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), GSCO, Navasota PD, and College Station PD Bomb Squad led ATF agents to identify the device as an explosive weapon. Nine (9) additional explosive weapons were located and rendered safe.

This case is being prosecuted by the Grimes County District Attorney’s office.

The investigation was led by ATF jointly with the Grimes County S.O., Navasota PD, and College Station PD Bomb Squad This investigation is ongoing.
