Abisai Garcia Ramirez, age 21 of 669 Crockett Martin Road in Conroe,has been released from the hospital and after a quick trip to Conroe Police Department has been officially charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter. His bond has been set at $500,000.
Ramirez was the driver of the Chevrolet Lumina that ran the red light at Frazier and Gladstell early last Saturday morning striking and killing 29-year-old Mariah Manke of Magnolia. Manke and her 21-year-old passenger Thomas Weeks were southbound on Frazier when their vehicle was struck on the drivers side. Manke died at the scene , Weeks was transported to Conroe Regional Hospital.
Ramirez injured his knee in the accident and required surgery. His passenger Rebecca Castilow, age 18 suffered minor injuries and was later booked into the Montgomery County jail when it was determined that she exited the vehicle, walked into the convenience store and dropped drugs into the trash before even checking on the victims. She was charged with Possession and Tampering with Evidence.
In addition a 2010 Camero traveling in the lane next to Manke and driven by 54-year-old Roland Reed was struck by Manke’s vehicle and pushed into the bushes at which point he left the scene and was stopped approximately two blocks away..
