Just after 6pm DPS and Porter Fire responded to a report of a maroon Dodge pickup hitting a utility pole on I-69 northbound feeder just south of FM 1314. Units arrived to find the male driver in critical condition but the passenger was not injured and there was minor damage to the truck. DPS Troopers say the driver had a medical episode. That is when the passenger grabbed the steering wheel to attempt to control the truck but it hit the pole. Alcohol was found in the vehicle but it is unknown if that contributed to the medical condition.
