Just before 1030pm several calls started to come into 911 in reference to a male walking in the roadway on FM 1485 between Linda and East-West. As units were enroute a wrecker driver spotted the male. However by the time he was able to turn around a female motorist traveling northbound, did not see the pedestrian and struck him with the right side of her Chevrolet pickup, ripping off the mirror and shattering the windshield. The stopped and walked back to see what she hit, she thought it was a deer until she realized it was a man she struck and immediately called 911. MCHD and Caney Creek Fire Department responded to the scene. The man was transported to Conroe Regional Trauma Center in critical condition with a severe head injury. He had no identification on his person. FM 1485 reopened just before 130 am after DPS completed their investigation. The female driver submitted to a blood draw and showed no signs of impairment.
