MAN DIES IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH SUNDAY MORNING

At 9:40 am Sunday Montgomery County dispatchers started receiving multiple calls for a motorcycle crash on the northbound feeder of SH 249 just north of Hardin Store Road. The location is just several hundred yards south of the MCHD station. Units with MCHD and Magnolia Fire responded and found a male unresponsive on the shoulder of the feeder. Medics worked for close to 30-minutes to save the man but were unsuccessful. DPS investigated the crash and determined the Yamaha RI was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when he struck the curb on the right shoulder and jumped it. The motorcycle continued for over two hundred feet before striking a tree and fence. The bike continued almost another 100 feet ejecting the driver and tearing off the wheel assembly. Montgomery County Forensics Investigators responded to the scene. Eickenhorst Funeral Directors transported the male to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constables Deputies assisted with traffic control. As the investigation continued several motorcycles different motorcycles were seen southbound on SH 249 in excess of 100 miles per hour.
