Just after 3pm a rain shower crossed SH 105 between Cut and Shoot and Cleveland. Moments later an eastbound Saturn attempted to avoid a collision as a vehicle in front of him turned into a private drive. The Saturn went toward the ditch before coming back to the road and crossing into the westbound lanes of SH 105. A Ford F-150 pickup which was westbound could not avoid the crash and hit the Saturn head on. The male in the Saturn was pronounced deceased on the scene by Montgomery County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace James Metts. He ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. The driver of the truck suffered A broken leg. The victim was not wearing a seat belt. SH 105 remains closed with backups to Conroe and Cleveland. Old 105 which was being used for an alternate was also closed after an 18-wheeler trying to navigate the narrow road collided with a pickup.
