MAN ENTRAPPED FOR ALMOST AN HOUR IN FM 1485 CRASH

At 7:15a.m. Sunday morning Cut and Shoot and Caney Creek Fire Departments were dispatched to a one vehicle roll-over accident on FM 1485 approximately one-half mile south of the railroad tracks.

When they arrived they found a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe , driven by Joel Caputo, 29 of Splendora upside down in the ditch. It had impacted several trees splitting one pine tree. The 29-year-old male was trapped in the vehicle.

Crews started immediately attempting to cut him out of the vehicle. After almost fifty-five minutes they were able to free him. Montgomery County Hospital District transported him in critical condition. Two drivers going northbound on FM 1485 spotted the crash and stopped. The driver said he had been there for awhile screaming for help. The duo said at least ten vehicles passed the scene as they were there yet only one call was received for the crash.

DPS Trooper Brack who is investigating the crash said the Tahoe was traveling southbound on FM 1485 when for unknown reasons crossed the northbound lane hitting the trees and rolling over. Until he talks with the driver no other details were available
