Saturday night, Caney Creek Fire and MCHD responded to a reported major accident on SH 242 just west of FM 1314. A vehicle traveling at high speed had rear-ended a Chevrolet Malibu, causing it to spin out of control. EMS began talking to the driver of the striking vehicle. He became quite beligerant and threatening. MCSO was dispatched priority to the scene. The first unit arrived, and the male continued to refuse the officer’s orders and then started fighting the deputy. When the deputy put the male in cuffs, he began cussing the deputy. At the patrol car, he fought the deputy, refusing to get in the patrol car, then spat in the deputy’s face. He then began kicking the door of the patrol car. As the deputy investigated the crash, a family member of the arrested suspect arrived on the scene and told deputies that a deputy had just left his house to take a report after the male, now arrested, had broken a window in his home and fled the scene. The male was also believed to be intoxicated as he continued cussing and name-calling the deputies.
