HARRIS COUNTY, TX- An armed robbery call took a bizarre twist Tuesday when the person reporting the crime wound up arrested on old AND new charges! A Deputy with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to an armed robbery report in the 8800 block of FM 1960 Bypass, where Bennett Walker met with Deputies and said a “friend” used a gun to rob him of $200 in cash at an apartment complex on Paramatta Lane in the Greenpoint area.
To Walker’s dismay, Deputies wanted his name and information too. Turns out Walker was free on a $15,000 Harris County bond after being arrested for assaulting a pregnant woman. He also had open warrants in that county for felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Fail to Identify.
Deputies then took Walker into custody and placed him in the back of the patrol car, where they say he damaged the inside of the vehicle’s door by kicking it.
“Bennett Walker was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrants and charges of Criminal Mischief will be accepted pending the damage estimate. The robbery investigation is ongoing,” Constable Mark Herman said.
