Just after 8pm Monday a man called 911 to report that he was lost along the San Jacinto River. According to Porter Fire Chief Jody Binion he rode his motorcycle from the Smmer Hills area along the San Jacinto River. He had been out there only once before. As it got dark he became lost and then his motorcycle flooded out forcing him to walk.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Precinct 4 Constables and the Porter Fire Department responded. Porter using their new Utility Vehicle was able to locate him in a short period of time bringing him out of the woods with no injuries.
Porter Fire Department bought the Kubota several months back for support for parades and other large events. This includes search and rescue.
The vehicle costing approximately $18000 is configured to carry a injured patient and several rescue workers.
