man rescued just before truck submerges

The rains moved in Tuesday morning in Magnolia as several Precinct 5 Deputy Constables were about to enter their Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constables Office in Magnolia. Moments later Lt. Urban and Deputy Ryan Johnson was across the street in the pouring rain swimming in the lake.

A man who had been driving in the area of Nichols Sawmill and Unity Park suffered what appeared to be a heart attack. His Chevrolet pickup plunged into the lake which was recently built next to the Constables Office.

The Lt and Deputy swam almost 20 yards to assist the driver out of his truck before it completely submerged.  MCHD transported him to the hospital in stable condition.

Wreckers spent almost an hour having to hook up the truck and pull not just it but the weight of the water out of the pond.
