Roberto Ismael Alvarado Jr. 23 of Cleveland has been sentenced to 65 years in prison for driving a get away car in a robbery on December 16, 2015 that left the clerk Conbino Crasto dead with a bullet to the heart. Alvarado also supplied the weapons, clothing and gloves for the robbery. Alvarado was sentenced by a jury after 3 days of testimony. He was originally charged with capital murder but decided a guilty plea to get the charge reduced. The jury could have given him up to 99-years but after just over an hour of deliberations gave him 65. He will not be eligible for parole for 33 years. On December 16, 2015, after casing the Exxon in the 1000 block of FM 2025 when Michael Richardson, 19 and Frank Hernandez Jr., 19 and a juvenile entered the store. During testimony, Hernandez and Richardson testified they smoked weed for several hours at Richardson’s grandmothers house in Cleveland. As the robbery went down Alvarado waited at a nearby park with the get away vehicle. Hernandez shot Crasto, then robbed the register. They then fled the business. After the money was split between the four, Hernandez got $200, Alvarado $200, Richardson $80 and the remainder to the juvenile. A trial date has not yet been set for the others.
