Just after 2:30 p.m. New Caney Fire Department and MCHD were dispatched to a crash on US 59 southbound just north of Roman Forest Drive. When they arrived they found one person entrapped and his pickup truck split in two.
MCHD who at first had a helicopter on standby transported the male driver to Hermann Hospital Woodlands in stable condition.
According to a witness the truck was southbound when his pickup left the road hitting the guardrail then striking a concrete overhead highway support column. The truck was ripped into pieces after the impact.
The 36 year old driver from Splendora is in stable condition.
