MAN WANTED IN PATTON VILLAGE IS IN CUSTODY

Aaron Phillips, 30, who was wanted in connection with the death of Jason Gilbert was arrested last night and is now in the Montgomery County Jail on a $150,000 bond. Currently Phillips is charged with Arson. Early Wednesday morning Phillips went to a neighbor’s house on South Lakeview in Patton Village and told him his living room was on fire and then disappeared into the night. EMC and Porter firefighters arrived at the wood frame home with heavy fire. Once it was extinguished the Montgomery County Fire Marshal, who was investigating requested homicide detectives respond to the scene due to evidence uncovered. Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office Investigators worked along with ATF and Montgomery County Detectives most of the day Wednesday and again Thursday. Late Thursday afternoon a trash can was located behind an abandon home across the street from the fire location. Inside was the deceased body of Jason Gilbert. Detectives started the search for Phillips and located him within 24 hours. Additional charges are pending on Phillips.
