Just after dark Wednesday Splendora Police spotted a white Ford pickup truck wanted in the burglary of multiple weapons in acadoches. The officer stopped the vehicle near I-69 and East River. The officers ordered the occupants out of the vehicle. The car then sped off leading officers on a chase through the East River and Kingsport area. They then got back to I-69 to Fostoria and north on Fostoria. As they crossed SH 105 and then the railroad tracks, they went off-road. Crashing through two gates across from the 105 Speedway they continued until the truck high centered in Jay Hawker Creek. There, two, possibly three Hispanic males exited the vehicle and fled into the woods. An empty holster was found on the floorboard but no other weapons. Believing the suspects were armed, extra precautions were taken. As Splendora Police launched a drone, a Harris County Sheriff’s Office Fixed Wing Aircraft responded to the scene with a FLIRÂ unit and started the search. TDCJ Hightower Unit in Dayton was contacted and responded with tracking dogs and horses. Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Patton Village Police, DPS, and MCSO assisted Splendora Police. The search continued until midnight. Unable to locate the suspects. As TDCJ officials were loading the dogs, it was discovered one was missing, her collar had hung on a fence. The black and tan coon hound has only a half-tale. She is a trained tracking and bite dog, however, she will only bite and hold the person whose track she was put on. Otherwise, a sweet dog. If anyone spots her please call Splendora Police, MCSO, or TDCJ Hightower Unit. Also, be on the lookout for two Hispanic males on foot in the area.
