A head-on collision left a man in critical condition who had already met with misfortune in life.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a motorcycle was eastbound on SH 242 and a pickup truck was westbound. The truck was passing several vehicles in a “no passing zone” when he met the motorcycle. Both veered to the south shoulder and struck head-on.
The driver of the motorcycle had one prosthetic leg, which was left in the roadway where the crash occurred. The crash severely injured his remaining leg. He was transported to an area hospital and then flown to the Texas Medical Center in Houston by air ambulance.

A citation was issued to the truck driver for passing in a no passing zone and the case may be presented to a grand jury for additional charges.
