I spoke to the vet and Max is eating well and alert. His mange is so severe that if you touch him, pus comes out of the skin. He cannot be treated for the mange right now because it would send too many toxins into the bloodstream and could be devastating to Max.
It also appears that the leg was broken by a blunt force….possibly hit by a car in addition to everything else ?!?! It’s mind boggling!
Yesterday his chance for recovery was 50/50. Today he is at 60/40. Go Max!! Sending tons of prayers and positive healing energy to you sweet boy! You have a bright future
It is anticipated that Max will be hospitalized for at least one month before he goes to his foster home to complete his recovery. Many of you have inquired about adopting Max but it will be several months before he is ready for a new home. He will be going into a great foster home when he is discharged to complete his recovery and if they do not adopt him, then I will let everyone know and start taking applications. In the meantime, keep praying and sending positive thoughts and healing energy. Max is not out of the woods yet.
