MCEA ANNOUCES PRESENTING SPONSOR FOR GREAT AMERICAN DUCK RACE

Montgomery County Emergency Assistance (MCEA) is excited to announce Entergy as the Presenting Sponsor for the 2013 MCEA Great American Duck Race. The race will be held during The Woodlands Annual Splash Day at the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center in The Woodlands July 4th in the Village of Creekside. Entergy has been a presenting sponsor since 2008 and partners with MCEA regularly to assist residents in crisis with their utility payments. The Annual Duck Race is the premier event of MCEA and the funding is critical to our programs. Community support will enable MCEA to raise funds to meet the increased needs and demands of clients in Montgomery County.
“Entergy believes in being involved in the community we live in”, said Renee Brown, Customer Service Manager for Entergy. Entergy provides funding for eligible MCEA clients that are 55 or older and disabled or 60 and older through the Power to Care Program.
On July 4th, over 10,000 individually numbered (adopted) rubber ducks will be dropped down the 2 story waterslide at the aquatic center pool. The ducks swim their way through the lazy river to the finish line for prizes! MCEA sells duck adoptions 3 months prior to the race at community events, through the media, and on line at www.DuckRace.com/TheWoodlands . The opportunity to win a prize and help your neighbor in need brings awareness and funding to the agency. Buckalew Chevrolet has agreed to participate in the MCEA 2013 Great American Duck Race as the Grand Prize Sponsor. Duck adopters are eligible to possibly win a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro from Buckalew Chevrolet. One duck number will be randomly pre-selected by an independent promotion company. If the pre-selected number places in the top 8, the adopted duck individual would win the vehicle.
Community donations for prizes are needed. Sponsorships are still available up through May 12th. For additional information please contact Margie Taylor at 936.539.1096, or email [email protected].
