Early Sunday morning two males assaulted another male at the park in Cumberland and stole his 2016 Dodge Dart. An attempt to locate was issued on the vehicle. A short time later another MCSO Deputy on the way back to the office to return the “COPS” film crew spotted the vehicle on FM 1485 and US 59 going east. The deputy turned around on the vehicle and waited until back-up arrived before stopping the vehicle. When they reached Baptist Encampment, the stolen vehicle abruptly stopped. The passenger jumped out and fled into the woods. Â The driver was transported to the Montgomery County Jail . The owner of the vehicle arrived at the scene and recovered his vehicle. Charges are pending on the driver.
