MCSO DEPUTY AND K-9 RECEIVE AWARD

Sheriff Tommy Gage is proud to announce that Deputy David Birch and his K-9 partner “Argo” earned awards last week at the United States Police Canine Association Trials.

This past week Deputy David Birch and his K-9 partner “Argo” attended the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) Trials hosted by Conroe Independent School District Police Department.

In attendance were approximately 25 teams of handlers and their canine partners from all across Texas but mostly from the Dallas Metroplex area.

Deputy Brich and “Argo” earned certifications in narcotics detection and tracking and patrol, and also won four awards in Criminal Apprehension, Tracking, Overall Patrol and the “Rookie Dog” Award.

Deputy Birch and “Argo” have only been partners for a few months but have already made a great impact within the community by enhancing the patrol functions of the Sheriff’s Office. Deputy David Birch and “Argo” are assigned to the District III Patrol area in the eastern part of the county but assist in all the geographical areas when needed.

Deputy David Birch has been with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for three years. “Argo” is a four year old German Shepard from the Czech Republic.

Sheriff Tommy Gage and the entire Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate Deputy Birch and “Argo” for their dedication and accomplishments.
