mcso dispatcher receives award

Sheriff Tommy Gage is proud to announce that Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Communications Supervisor Denise Jimenez was nominated and selected to receive the prestigious Texas APCO (Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials) – International Public Safety Communications Line Supervisor of the Year Award, April 5, 2011, at an awards luncheon in San Marcos at the annual State APCO Conference. Nominated by Lt. Joe Sclider and Captain Peggy Frankhouser, Sheriff Gage believes that APCO’s Awards Committee made a good decision.

Denise came to work at the Sheriff’s Office in 1993 as a call taker and radio operator and since that time has promoted to the office supervisor. Sheriff Gage said about Denise, “What sets Denise Jimenez apart is her dedication to her chosen profession. She is responsible for all day to day operations of a busy communications center and is tasked with the planning and operational issues of a very busy public safety call center.”

Supervising nearly 50 men and women with a call volume of more than 426,000 calls per year the Sheriff Tommy Gage is proud that Denise has been chosen for this award and believes that everyone in Montgomery County benefits from her professionalism and determined nature to improve public safety operations every day.
