MCSO INVESTIGATES EMC BANK JUGGING

On July 28, 2018 at about 12:30 pm, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a burglary of a motor vehicle at O’Rilley’s Auto Parts at 20850 FM 1485 in New Caney. Deputies learned the victim of a burglary had just left Chase Bank at 20798 FM 1485 and gone to the O’Rilley’s store next to the bank. While the victim was inside someone broke out the vehicle window and stolen the money he has just gotten at the bank and some other items. Video surveillance showed the victim leave the bank parking lot, with a gray or silver passenger car following. The vehicle followed the victim to the O’Rilley’s. According to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office this is the second burglary of a motor vehicle/bank jugging from the same Chase Bank location within a week. Bank Jugging is where a criminal sit in or near a parking lot of a bank waiting for his victim to come out. Mostly the victim is someone carrying a bank bag or large envelope. They will then follow the victim in hopes the victim will make another stop and leave the bag or envelope in the vehicle. If this doesn’t happen they go back to the bank and wait for another potential victim.
