MCSO AND MISD BUST OPERATION SUPPLYING DRUGS TO MONTGOMERY SCHOOLS

On Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at approximately 2:15 PM, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit, headed up by Lt. Philip Cash, with the assistance of the Montgomery Independent School District Police, served a narcotics search warrant at a residence located in the 12700 block of Brightwood, in Montgomery, Texas.

While serving the warrant, 26 grams of resinous extractives of marijuana, (tetrahydrocannabinols), commonly referred to as “wax” or “butter” was recovered along with approximately $4200 in United States currency. “Wax” has a street value of approximately $100 per gram. This drug is gaining popularity with school students and young adults who abuse marijuana.

The Special Investigations Unit received information that the suspect was trafficking, “wax”, to junior and senior high school students in the Montgomery area. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit and the Montgomery Independent School District Police worked together on this investigation and were able to establish probable cause to secure a search warrant on the residence. As a result of the investigation, a juvenile male subject was arrested and charged with felony 2 possession of a controlled substance. The juvenile male was transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility in Conroe.
