Saturday morning at approximately 7:48 am Humble PD was notified of a motor vehicle pursuit heading southbound from Montgomery Co. Our officers immediately began checking the area of US Hwy 59 and located a white passenger vehicle with no plate, driving erratic and at a high rate of speed. A Humble Traffic Unit attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the driver refused and took off. After a short distance, both the driver and passenger bailed out and began to flee on foot around Memorial Hermann Hospital. The Humble Traffic Unit was able to get the passenger detained quickly, but the short run was too much for the suspect and he struggled to walk or even stand after his short run. The driver was located a short distance away by a Patrol Unit. The driver fell into a ditch, was soaking wet and bleeding but still thought that he could lie his way out of the situation by telling the officer that he had just come from his girlfriend’s apartment. Little did the suspect know that the apartments he was referring to were only rented out to the elderly, not to mention it did not explain why he was out of breath, wet, and bleeding. Both suspects were handed over to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies and it was found that they had stolen over $1,000 worth of Lego sets from a business in MoCo. They are also possibly linked to thefts from Humble and one had an outstanding warrant. Because MCSO Units had lost sight of the vehicle before the Humble Unit attempted to stop, the suspects are now facing evading charges in Montgomery and Harris Co. Arrested was Stephon Eugene Estes, 34, of 16200 Bridgeland #1201, in Cypress, Texas. He is charged with organized retail theft over $2500 but less than $30,000 and it was enhanced due to prior convictions. The passenger was identified as Marcus Matthew Flanagan, 42, of 11507 Heathermill in Houston. He is charged with organized retail theft $2500-$30000 with it being enhanced due to prior convictions. He also had an open warrant out of Washington County, and you guessed it, theft less than $2500 enhanced with prior convictions.
