MCSO TRACKS AND ARRESTS BURGLARY SUSPECT

CASTRO,ALEXOn Tuesday, November 26, at 6:23 PM, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a suspicious person call in 13000 Block of Sea Island Drive. Patrol Deputies responded and discovered a vehicle that was associated to the suspicious person call.

During the investigation, Deputies were able to identify several stolen items from inside the vehicle that came from a residence in the immediate area. Deputies proceeded to this residence and discovered indicators of forced entry to a rear door. When Deputies made entry into the residence, while announcing their presence, two males were discovered inside, who were in the process of removing stereo equipment. The two males fled out of the house through a side door.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office units pursued the suspects into a wooded area. While Sheriff’s Office Patrol units and a K-9 unit were tracking the suspects, information was passed on that the suspects had make entry into a rental cottage located in the 600 block of La Torretta.

The suspects were located at the rental cottage and attempted to flee that location. One of the suspects was detained after a foot pursuit. The other suspect has not been located at this time. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Detectives were called to the scene and an investigation is ongoing.

Arrested was Alex Castro, he is charged with two counts of burglary of a habitation. Castro who resides at 18304 Aztec in Porter has been handled by Montgomery County before. On May 18, 2012 he was arrested by DPs on an open forgery of financial instrument warrant.  He pled guilty to that charge and was given 180 days in jail on June 6, 2012.

On April 14, 2013 he was again arrested by DPS on an open warrant from 2012 for sexual assault of a child. . In that case which s still pending he is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old female

He is currently in the Montgomery County Jail with No Bond.
