On June 19, 2019, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 11000 block of County Line Road in Willis Texas to recover a stolen motor vehicle. While patrol Deputies and investigators with the Auto Theft Task Force (ATTF) were conducting the investigation into the stolen vehicle, they observed in plain view what appeared to be multiple Marijuana plants growing on the property.
Investigators with the Montgomery County Narcotics Enforcement Team (MOCONET) were then contacted and requested to assist with the investigation. A search warrant for the property was subsequently obtained, and the property was thoroughly searched. A total of 293 Marijuana plants were ultimately located and removed from the property along with 8 additional pounds of dried Marijuana. 13 firearms were also recovered from inside the residence. The stolen vehicle was processed and later returned to the owner. The property owner was not on location at the time the investigation was conducted. This remains an active investigation, and multiple charges are pending.
MOCONET is a cooperative multi-agency task force which consists of law enforcement agencies from, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Walker County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Offices, Texas Department of Public Safety-CID, Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Walker County District Attorney’s Office, Customs and Border Protection-Houston Air and Marine Operations, and Homeland Security Investigations.
