Memorial Day is over and most everyone is back to work. According to the District Attorney’s Office there were a total of 28 DWI arrests. This included one arrest for a person with three or more prior DWI convictions. Four persons with two DWI convictions. One with was arrested for DWI and had a child in the vehicle. Â In addition there were sixteen DWI arrests and six Boating While Intoxicated. Â In addition to the DWI charges five warrants were cleared with an arrest. The average Blood Alcohol Level for all arrested and that gave a breath sample was 0.15. A .08 is considered intoxicated.
The Lake Patrol had extra units out as did the Texas Parks and Wildlife. According to Lt. Brian DuBose with the Precinct 1 Constable’s Office Lake Patrol there were two jet ski accidents, and several people arrested for Boating While Intoxicated. Sunday nights weather also caused a boating death. As winds came up a family fishing under the FM1097 bridge had their boat capsize causing the death on 65-year-old Richard Lamberth.
Traffic on the lake Monday was quite a bit less than the weekend.
