MEMORIAL DAY ENDS WITH 28 DWI ARRESTS

Memorial Day is over and most everyone is back to work. According to the District Attorney’s Office there were a total of 28 DWI arrests. This included one arrest for a person with three or more prior DWI convictions. Four persons with two DWI convictions. One with was arrested for DWI and had a child in the vehicle.  In addition there were sixteen DWI arrests and six Boating While Intoxicated.  In addition to the DWI charges five warrants were cleared with an arrest. The average Blood Alcohol Level for all arrested and that gave a breath sample was 0.15. A .08 is considered intoxicated.

The Lake Patrol had extra units out as did the Texas Parks and Wildlife. According to Lt. Brian DuBose with the Precinct 1 Constable’s Office Lake Patrol there were two jet ski accidents, and several people arrested for Boating While Intoxicated. Sunday nights weather also caused a boating death. As winds came up a family fishing under the FM1097 bridge had their boat capsize causing the death on 65-year-old Richard Lamberth.
Traffic on the lake Monday was quite a bit less than the weekend.
