MEMORIAL DAY NO REFUSAL WEEKEND

The Montgomery County District Attorney announces a continuation of the nation’s most comprehensive No Refusal campaign this Memorial Day weekend. Officers from a multitude of agencies will be enforcing our DWI laws and seat belt laws this weekend. The most advanced technology for DWI will be used during this program scheduled to run this Saturday and Sunday. The message is that impaired drivers will face serious consequences this weekend for and DWI and BWI charge.

A DWI arrest can cost a person an average of $10,000. A taxi cab, sober designated driver, driving company such as dd4hire.com, or tipsy tow program such as that used by Milstead Wrecker all cost significantly less than a DWI arrest. It goes without saying that all these alternatives are significantly safer.* Please enjoy the benefits of Montgomery County such as Lake Conroe or The Woodlands, but please do so responsibly. It is our hope that in Montgomery County, there will be no serious DWI or BWI crashes during this national holiday. This program, with the cooperation and work of all law enforcement, has resulted in safer waterways and roadways in this county. For the first time in many years, last year saw no DWI or BWI fatalities during No Refusal operations. The trend is continuing this year and with the cooperation of the police, prosecutors, and notice through the media, we hope that there will be no DWI or BWI crashes this weekend. No business is good business in this field.

For updates on DWI and BWI numbers, please follow the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office on Twitter at MontgomeryTXDAO. Numbers will be posted as they become available. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office also lists information on arrestees on their website at www.mocosheriff.com .
