MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- On Wednesday, Deputies with Precinct 4 Constable “Rowdy” Hayden’s Office assisted a DEA Task Force in executing a felony warrant service at a residence in the 25000 block of Cambridge Blvd in New Caney.
They arrested two suspects and confiscated nearly 600 grams of methamphetamine and 21 grams of heroin inside the residence, along with items used for packaging and processing narcotics for sale and transport, and two firearms.
Jose Manuel Cruz, 40, of Houston is charged with two counts of Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, more than 400 grams; Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, more than 4 grams, but less than 200 grams. Bond on 2 of the charges totals $200,000 and the third charge was an outstanding warrant for which he is held without bond. The case will be tried in the 435th District Court before Judge Patty McGinnis.

Contreras-Cortez, 37, of Houston is charged with Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, more than 400 grams; Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, more than 4 grams, but less than 200 grams. Bond on the two charges totals $50,000. The case will be tried in the 359th District Court before Judge Kathleen Hamilton.
