Meth lab ditched in EMC

Early Wednesday morning, the New Caney Fire Department responded to a hazmat call on Lost Lake Road off of FM 1485.

The reportee met them at the location and said he was picking up cans and noticed what he was certain were chemicals related to methamphetamine. NCFD notified the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office who responded to the scene, along with the MCSO Special Investigations Unit.

Bottles positively identified as those used to manufacture methamphetamine were found at several locations in the woods in the immediate area. Lt. Cash, the SIU supervisor, notified a Texas Department of Public Safety Methamphetamine Initiative Group, or MIG, who responded to the scene to gather evidence and prepare the material for transport by a DEA contracted hazmat team.

No arrests were made and no suspects are known at this time.
