On April 7, 2024, Wade Greenhall, a then Junior at Splendora High School was swimming in the “pit” on Peach Creek in Splendora when he went down. EMC Fire was dispatched to the scene along with MCHD. Paramedics arrived and immediately started CPR. He was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital. He remained on life support for several weeks. HE was the transferred to Texas Children’s Rehad where doctors went to work attempting to bring Wade back to where he was. Doctors call him a miracle teen as each week they set goals on Monday. Wade did not wait until Friday to complete the goal but accomplished it by the end of the day on Monday. Today friends and family gathered at his family’s home in Splendora for a welcome home. The MCHD Paramedics who originally made the scene along with EMC Firefighters were also in attendance. At this point, Wade has a long way to go. He has a wheelchair but prefers to walk, at times with braces. His eyesight has not returned, however, he can see light and at times color. Doctors hope that will change over time. Wade’s parents Chris and Heather Greenhall want to thank everyone out there who kept Wade in their prayers.
