Comments: PLEA 10/13/23 14:38 CD Plea Sent COPPER A366892 Redbone Hound Mix 5 years and skinny at 54lbs Neutered and Heartworm Negative ADOPTER, FOSTER or RESCUE NEEDED! Well, this is Copper’s 2nd visit to the shelter; 1st visit was in May ’22 as a stray. Then he was adopted in June ’22 only to return again to the shelter as a stray back in February of this year. Never mind that he has been here twice….this second time has him here for almost 8 months!!! So a little about Copper – he’s a good boy, skinny. Very, VERY treat oriented. He will take treats from you gently, but should you not have a treat, he will scour all over the ground for crumbs of anything. Very much a hound in the sense that he seems to very much enjoy the hunt for food. Based on the 2nd finder, he did sleep on their porch after trying to make his way into the house. So guessing he was probably a good indoor/ outdoor dog. Like any dog – if left outside for too long they can get themselves into some trouble, like running loose. We would love for Copper to get a 3rd, and hopefully final, opportunity at the good life any dog deserves. Copper is good on a leash, so could be a walking buddy. Cats are not his thing, but he does have a kennel mate so he is good with other dogs. *****Bronn A376309, 1yr 11mnths, Neutered Male, 60lbs, Heartworm Negative Bronn is currently the LONGEST TERM resident at the shelter at 334 days! Bronn was abandoned at the shelter so we don’t know much about his history before coming to us. Bronn’s favorite activity is zooming around the play yard and splashing in the kiddie pool. He’s also a quick learner and knows commands such as sit and down. He has shared a kennel with other dogs in the past. Bronn did have an incident where he bit someone while being picked up and loaded into a crate resulting in him having to be quarantined. *****Copper A366892, 5yrs, Neutered Male, 55lbs, Heartworm Negative. Copper has been in the shelter twice. First as a stray in May ’22, then briefly adopted in June ’22, only to find his way back to us as a stray in February of this year. He’s treat-loving, and quite the hound when it comes to hunting for food. He’s great on leash and shares his kennel with another dog. Copper’s behavior has unfortunately declined while in the shelter causing him to attempt to bite staff, spinning in his kennel, and weight loss. ****Bonfire A387568, 8yr, Neutered Male, 72lbs, Heartworm Positive. Bonfire is a lively and water-loving dog, especially when it comes to the water hose. He is smart, knows the “sit” command and is treat-motivated. He walks well on leash and enjoys hanging out in the play yards. Bonfire unfortunately was involved in an altercation with another dog and ended up biting someone while attempting to be separated resulting in him having to be quarantined.
