GRIMES COUNTY, TX- On Friday, June 6, 2025, the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the College Station Police Department regarding an alleged family violence incident that had occurred the previous evening in Grimes County.
A responding deputy promptly contacted the victim, who identified Clinton Wyatt Capps as the perpetrator of the alleged assault. A thorough investigation was immediately launched.
Due to Mr. Capps’s previous professional relationship with local authorities, the Grimes County District Attorney’s Office recused itself, and the case was referred to a special prosecutor with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
After review, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, a felony arrest warrant was issued for Assault Family Violence Occlusion (TPC 22.01(b)(2)(B)), a third-degree felony. Mr. Capps was taken into custody at the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office shortly thereafter.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office will handle the prosecution of this case.
